Friday Five 7/31/15

Friday Five 7/31/15
Welcome to my first Friday Five! In an effort to blog more consistently, I’m challenging myself to post a blog every Friday that consists of five things that have piqued my interest during the week. They can be anything from articles to quotes to images. My goal is to do it until the end of the year, which sounds intimidating, but it’s only 22 posts. I think I can handle that…fingers crossed!

Upfest 2015: Europe’s largest street art and graffiti festival

There’s nothing I appreciate more than turning a corner to find street art. Upfest is a three-day event that draws (pun intended!) over 250 artists to paint 30,000 sq ft of surfaces in Bristol, UK. Such a cool event!

The world’s best travel jacket by Baubax

If you haven’t heard already, this is most funded clothing project in the history of crowdfunding! What is it? A travel jacket that comes in four diferent styles (sweatshirt, bomber jacket, with a built in eye-mask, inflatable neck pillow, gloves, multiple pockets for everything (ipad, passport, wallet etc), a drink pocket, and headphone holders.  When I first read about BauBax, they were at $2.4M of an original $20,000 goal. Flash forward less than a week, and it’s at $3.35M!

It’s time for the Uber of air travel

Airlines are ready for disruption. With only four large airlines controlling more than 80 percent of domestic air travel, the industry is a classic oligopoly.

Vegetable Ramen by The Woks of Life

Thanks to Buzzfeed, I found this amazing food blog, The Wok’s of Life. Their photos are drool-worthy, and the three recipes I’ve made so far have been delicious. The fresh veggies in this recipe really enhance the flavors of the ramen and the best part is you get to use whatever vegetables you have in your kitchen. I subbed green beans for the snow peas…yum!
