Happy Friday! If you haven’t been paying attention (or getting pranked), it’s April Fools Day. I’ve never really been into it, but apparently it’s huge with companies,
some even creating ads just for today. Who knew?!
Anyways, on to this week’s Friday Five. And, don’t worry, none of the links will Rick Roll you…;)
A great read especially after all the terrorist attacks around the world. Don’t let it stop you from seeing the world!
In the cold light of day, my rational brain takes over, ready with stats that underscore the safety of travel to most parts of the world—the fact that you’re likelier to die in a car crash or be struck by lightning than to be slain by terrorists, or that a city is never safer than it is following an attack, when security is heightened.
If you pay attention to fashion week, you’ll notice that a lot of designers have started to bring back fur and use it on the runway. Which is honestly a shame. But, thanks to the work of someone I’m glad to know, PJ Smith, and the Humane Society of the United States, change is coming. Giorgio Armani recently announced that he was going to stop using fur in his clothing lines, which is HUGE news.
Bourdain is the man. As a veggie, I found this one especially funny 😉
“Oh, I’ll accommodate [vegetarians]. I’ll rummage around for something to feed them, for a ‘vegetarian plate,’ if called on to do so. Fourteen dollars for a few slices of grilled eggplant and zucchini suits my food cost fine.”
A great post on what to do in Serbia’s capital. Adding it to my (never-ending) list of places to travel to.
Thanks to this Inc. article on the five best podcasts for women, I started listening to Iman Oubou’s weekly Entrepreneurs En Vogue podcast. IT. IS. AMAZING. So far I’ve binged four different episodes, and I’m learning so much. I’ve even turned two of my girlfriends on to it, and they both like it. It’s just so inspirational, and it has seriously motivated me to get off my butt and start accomplishing my goals for 2016.
Watch out, I’m going to be unstoppable! Have a GREAT weekend.
