Friday Five 11/6/15
Yes, I know we’ve been quiet on the site for more than a month! I feel like there’s been a theme of me discussing how fast time is going by, but holy crap, ain’t that the truth! I’ve just recovered from being sick which lasted longer than a week. My energy levels are finally way better – but I still have to take an afternoon nap or I can’t function. Getting older sucks. I’ve been noticing all these changes…definitely can’t live the lifestyle I used to in my early 20’s.
Speaking of turning older, I’ll be embarking on a two-week trip to Europe with my good friend next Friday! We’ve been planning since the end of July, so it’s crazy that it’s finally here. I just want to enjoy it, and make the most of every minute because I know it’s going to fly by. And, I don’t want it to!
But our itinerary is Austria – Czech Republic – Holland. Three countries I’ve never been to before, so I’m extremely excited. I’ll have a ton of fodder for the blog, which I’m stoked about writing.
Anyhoo, enough about my upcoming travels (which you’ll get to read about soon enough) and onto this week’s Friday Five!

“Where are you really from?”
I relate so much to the author of this article. Identity is a strange thing especially when you’ve lived in multiple countries and home is not a place, but where the people you love live. It can be infuriating having to explain where you’re from because of your name or skin color, but for me, I find it’s a great conversation starter. I have an interesting life story, and I enjoy sharing it.

20 Quotes On How To Develop Your Body Language
“Body language is a very powerful tool. We had body language before we had speech, and apparently, 80% of what you understand in a conversation is read through the body, not the words.” – Deborah Bull
Dribble – Show & Tell For Designers
I love Dribble – it’s where designers showcase what they’re working on/completed projects. Sometimes when I need inspiration, or to just marvel in general at people’s creativity, I spend a couple of hours browsing dribble. It’s so therapeutic for me.
Last Night I Cried For My Mom
Such a beautifully written piece. I wouldn’t be where I am today if it weren’t for my mother. As a kid, I never understood all the sacrifices she made for my brother and I in order to ensure we were comfortable and had a great life. But as I grow older, I’m slowly starting to get it.
Happy Friday!
